Chicago Bears Legend Steve McMichael Inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame

Legendary Tackle Joins Class of 2024

Battling ALS, McMichael Receives Honor at Home

Former Chicago Bears tackle Steve McMichael has reached the pinnacle of football, earning induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2024. McMichael, a consensus All-America selection at the University of Texas, was drafted by the New England Patriots with the 73rd overall pick in the third round.

Due to his battle with ALS, McMichael was unable to attend the induction ceremony in person. However, the ceremony was brought to him, with Walter Payton, the late Hall of Fame running back, presiding over the special moment.

"I'm honored and privileged to present Steve McMichael for enshrinement in the Pro Football Hall of Fame," Payton said. "Steve, you have secured your place among the greatest to ever play the game."

Surrounded by his fellow Bears teammates, McMichael embraced the recognition, cementing his legacy as one of the most dominant tackles in NFL history.
